Autolink Function Word & Outlook | Windows 7 x64

Post  AKMARK5000 on Fri Nov 04, 2011 10:42 am

Office 2007 works nicely under Windows 7 x64. However, I've noticed an ongoing problem over the past few months. Neither Word nor Outlook are automatically creating a hyperlink under conditions where they used to.

Usually, when entering (or cut/paste) an email address or URL web address, pressing enter and going to the next line would automatically turn blue with an underline (making it click-able).

I had to manually create the hyperlink (Ctrl+k on "insert menu") and once created links work correctly (as indicated by the instructional link below):

==> http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/add-a-link-in-a-message-HA010208647.aspx

The Word 2007 solution is:

- Click on the Office button.
- Click on "Word Options".
- Click on "Proofing".
- Click on "AutoCorrect Options".
- Choose the "AutoFormat as you Type" tab.
- Check the check box "Internet and Network Paths with Hyperlink" (re-check if already checked)

The Outlook 2007 solution is sightly different:

- Click on "Tools".
- Click on "Options".
- Click on "Editor Options".
- Click on "Proofing".
- Click on "AutoCorrect Options".
- Click on the tab => " AutoFormat as you Type".
- Check the check box "Internet and Network Paths with Hyperlink" (re-check if already checked)
