A Few Gaming Resouces

These are just some relative gaming links and definitions... if you want the details; look them up through and online search (Google it) !

STEAM - The gaming platform that allows gamers to purchase, store and collect and play games in an online environment (instead of game CD or DVD).  Sometimes STEAM is referred to as STEAM DRM.  A DRM is a copy protection service for games that are sold on STEAM. ==> http://store.steampowered.com/

Co-Optimus - Are you into PC Coop?  Find out which PC games contain a cooperative mode and whether or no that coop mode allows online or LAN; 2, 4, 8. or more players -vs- the AI in the SP campaign or simply a brain-dead horde mode.Year after year, this site is a wealth of information about cooperative gaming.  ==> http://www.co-optimus.com/games.php

STEAM Fix - Often game introductory logos, splash screens and movies become increasingly obnoxious. This site give directions on how to skip all the nonsense and get to the actual game faster.

Tunngle - A free gaming platform that allows almost any game with LAN capability to be played over the internet. ==> http://www.tunngle.net

F2P - the concept of free to play games usually involves downloading the base game free of charge. However, additional gaming goodness becomes available as downloadable content for free, but usually a price. If gamers stick to playing the base game and ignore all the DLC, then F2P Gaming is a fantastic concept. Unfortunately, F2P relies on DLC sales and invent all sorts of new ways to separate gamers from their money.

DLC - downloadable content is nothing more than downloadable files that expand the base game in some way. DLCs can be graphical enhancements, items, weapons, characters, new missions or maps, game art work, game music, etc etc.

A Few Gaming Resouces: STEAM Server Status?

Aside from the ussual B.S. of STEAM, it's servers really do go down and fail to operate. That's why it is important to check out whether or not the servers are actually down all over or if it is a localized problem or a problem with just you and you connection. Lukily there is a website where you can go to check.

Steam Services Status ===> http://steamstat.us/
